Kutztown University Announces Fall 2018 Degree Recipients

Kutztown University has conferred degrees for more than 450 students for the Fall 2018 semester. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish the requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The following students have been awarded degrees following the fall 2018 semester. The cumulative grade point average necessary for honors distinction is: with honor (cum laude) 3.40; with high honor (magna cum laude) 3.60 and with highest honor (summa cum laude) 3.80. Students listed multiple times have been awarded more than one degree. Students who have requested privacy (FERPA) are not listed publicly.

Kutztown University Awards Fall 2018 Career Exploration Certificates

Kutztown University has issued Career Exploration Certificates to 41 students for the 2018 fall semester. The Career Exploration Certificate is open to all freshmen and sophomore students. Students gain a greater understanding of themselves and the career development process. They will be better prepared to choose/confirm a major, research careers, gain related experience through informational interviewing and job shadowing experiences, and plan for a successful internship/professional job or graduate school search.

Fall 2018 Dean's List Announced

A total of 1,513 students have been named to the Dean's List at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) for the Fall 2018 semester of the 2018-2019 academic year, according to Joanne Bruno, J.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs. Students eligible for the Dean's List are those who have attained a 3.50 quality point average or better and are enrolled full-time. The letter grade "B" earns 3 quality points per credit, and the grade "A" earns 4 quality points per credit.

State System's New Chancellor Visits ESU

Dr. Daniel Greenstein, the fifth chancellor of Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education, visited East Stroudsburg University on Friday, November 2 to talk to constituents about the opportunities and challenges facing the University and the State System. Chancellor Greenstein toured the ESU Innovation Center and met with ESU President, Marcia G. Welsh, Ph.D.; vice presidents, academic deans, student leaders, faculty and staff leaders, and the ESU Council of Trustees. Chancellor Greenstein also held an open forum with the campus community and the community at large. Northampton Community College to Present Stephen Sondheim's "Merrily We Roll Along"

Northampton Community College students and local actors bring to life Sondheim's musical that turns back the clock on friendship and the high price of success. The story follows the lives of three friends - composer Franklin Shepard, lyricist Charley Kringas and writer Mary Flynn - and is told backward. Admission is free for anyone presenting a valid NCC ID, with a donation of a non-perishable food item. Everyone else is $5 for general admission - reservations are encouraged at ncctix.org. Newly established Honors College at CCU has more than 700 students

The HTC Honors College and Center for Interdisciplinary Studies was established at Coastal Carolina University on Oct. 12, and the 700 students who had been accepted into the University's honors program are now the first students housed in the new college. The HTC Honors College and Center for Interdisciplinary Studies will feature many new initiatives and a revised curriculum. It will support students who have ties to majors and departments across campus: from honors students to interdisciplinary studies students, who build their own, innovative academic majors. In addition, the college will continue to support and advise undeclared first-year students as they select and transition into their major.
